Colour options for a powder coat

8 posts in this topic

I'm getting a set of MIM 1900s refubed and powder coated for the Oak Green valver.

Undecided on finish. The place does not do diamond cutting so the dish will be powder coated as well.

Just looking for idea's on colour....

All standard alloy finish?

Alloy colour dish and oak green centres?

Smoked grey?

The choice is endless really but would like to know your thoughts or idea's. It is a personal opinion but suggestions welcome.

Here's MIMs for those who don't know.

Hmmmmm,

Never thought of gold, good option.

The sebrings on it just now are a light smoked colour which look pretty good.

Not red for me, saw an oaky on ebay recently and it had red wheels, didn't tickle the fancy too much!

Fridge probably at 80% capacity, the mini milks have taken a tumble in numbers though.. :P

Bought a set of original RA's for it, fully refurbed with new tyres.

Turned out to be cheaper than a refurb and buying 4 new tyres for the MIMs.

MIM''s look better than RA's tho.......
I had an '87 D reg white 16v with silver 1900's on back in the day. Had a GTi Engineering RE1900 it. Loved that car. Would spank RS Turbo's, especially on the twisty bits......

What are you gonna do with the MIM's now...???

I agree but it came down to money I'm afraid. Was looking at 200 for a refurb and another 200 for tyres so I have saved a bit of cash for the paint.
I've had to buy all new seals and need some side skirts, this is after wishbones and a timing belt. Cash is low and I need to save for the paint.
The MIMs sold last night for a small profit.
