Main body has been painted with just windows, door bonnet and tailgate to go before reassembly.

Now looking at perhaps August for completion as having to take sudden leave of absence form work which suits Stuart to take his time.

Nice, been a while to get to the paint stage, you must be pleased. Who's painting it for you?

I sent them photos for a quote and he came back with 4 - 5000!

Too expensive for me

Thankfully my quote wasn't as much as that but the car has been with them since December to work on in their own timescale.

Just received a revised quote for the car of £23 a month for all modifications and agreed valuation of £8000, £4 more than before :-)

Looks like the hydraulic unit has seized.

The car has gone to the body shop for paint etc so will have to wait to test the spare units to see if they are working.

So far I have got the correct grille without red stripe, outer hella headlights, hella fog lights, set of G60 arches.

Waiting to get wheel arch liners and side skirts to replace the worn ones on the car.

I'm sure there will be more things on the shopping list.

Do you know of anywhere that has the G60 arch liners new?

I got one of the last right front ones from VW Classic but both are now not listed on their site.

Second hand ones appear on eBay from time to time and the Golf Country also used the G60 ones I believe.

Finally found the time and weather to get some pictures of the car as it is now.

Things still to do include getting central locking sorted, wire up electric Recaros to the fusebox and attach the headlight adjuster motors. Also tyres for the RM002's.

Engine bay although oil free and dry could do with a clean up.

With the Aubergine G60 Ed1 up on eBay for £15000, I hate to think what the car might be worth after purchasing it as a shed for £3500 four years ago!

It came with a Supersprint one but I hope to get a custom rear section made up to look OEM at some point.
