  1. 1990 Volkswagen MK2 Golf GTI G60? This is an original Golf GTI G60 5 door - a very rare version of the fantastic mk2 Golf GTI. If you are reading this you know what you are looking at so I won't go on about how great these cars are. This G60 was built on the 28th May 1990 and delivered in Germany on the 17th June 1990. It was imported to the UK in 1997 and has had only 4 owners since its time in the UK and the chassis no checks out with VW as an original G60. For personal reasons I now have to sell my G60. I have spent well in excess of £2000 since owning it fitting upgraded suspension, roll bars, engine mounts, and the Mocal oil cooler etc. I had every intention of keeping this golf long term hence the recent expenditure although it is just not possible for me at this time. Overall the condition is excellent throughout. The mechanicals are in superb order and the underside of this mk2 is near perfect. I will list the work that has been carried out on this G60 within the last 5 thousand miles. - Rear beam removed and powder coated - New rear callipers, new rear discs and pads (green stuff pads) - New front discs and pads (green stuff pads) - New handbrake cables - New bilstein shocks all round - New Eibach springs all round - New engine mounts (vibra technics) - Brand new eibach anti roll bars fitted - Mocal oil cooler mounted behind font grille. A must for these G60s as they do have a tendency to run with hot oil. Sits at 88 90 degrees with the oil cooler. - Oil and oil filter replaced when the oil cooler was changed at around 133,000 miles (less than 1,500 miles ago) - Full service (125,004 miles) - New timing belt (2011 122,460 miles) - Jabbasport extra width supercharger belt - Gearbox oil replaced, brake fluid change - New thermostat and antifreeze - New front seat guides (both seats) - New spark plugs - New fuel filter - 4 new door membranes (all doors waxoiled at time of fitting) - New Clutch master cylinder, billet supercharger bushes - New pair of front wishbones - New anti-roll bar bushes! New anti-roll bar droplinks, new track rod ends - Full geometry set up with print out The supercharger was rebuilt to stage 4 standard with a 68mm pulley by Jabbasport (well renowned G60/G40 specialist) at around 105,000 miles and these superchargers need servicing every 45,000 miles so there is no concern with this until a further 10,000 miles. The cylinder head was also removed and ported and polished at this time as well as a new headset etc. I have the certificate and invoice to prove this work has been carried out. The boost return / breather pipe has not been deleted as it is there for a reason due to the fact if deleted it dramatically reduces the supercharger life as it is oiled by the vapour produced from the engine oil. Nearly all the MOTs are present dating back to 1997 and it is only missing one or two so this confirms the mileage. There are lots and lots of receipts and service history. The service book is stamped up until 90,000 miles and then there are lots of receipts after that for various works and servicing. I wouldn't say full service history as I feel that would be misleading. It more or less is, but with some gaps when the car has not been used as often as time has gone by. This G60 also has brilliant specification as follows: - Full grey leather interior - Electric windows front and rear - Heated and electric wingmirrors - Heated head light washers - Electric sunroof - Central locking - 15 inch spoked G60 alloy wheels The leather interior is in great shape, obviously with some minor wear to the drivers bolster, although nothing unsightly or that needs immediate attention. It has four keys and 2 alarm fobs. It has the original G60 keys with it which are a rare find. Also the original warning triangle and first aid kit are present in the boot. As you can see from the picture, the exterior condition is in great shape as well. The G60 arches and bumper plastics are in excellent order. The underside is completely free from rust and has never been welded. It is hard to believe it is 25 years old as it really is that good and most of the suspension and braking components are all brand new. Any inspection is welcome. There are a few bits that I was planning to do to get the car up to concourse standard. There is some minor corrosion on the scuttle beneath the windscreen - it does not need a new scuttle as the corrosion is very minor. Also there is a little corrosion behind the bootlid next to the rear lights where there is a water trap on these MK2s, and a little bit of bubbling by one of the washer jets on the bonnet. I was going to get these bits done and have been quoted £450 to do so. It is just something I would do to make the car perfect. I can send more pictures if required. The only downside to this G60 was that it was recorded cat c in 2003. The car has been checked over thoroughly and there are no signs of accident damage whatsoever. I have had all the geometry checked and it is all well within tolerance. Please do not be put off by this as it is a really straight car with many many new parts. The current mileage is 134,000. All four tyres are in excellent condition with lots of tread remaining. Car will come with a years MOT. Price is £3,250 Ono
  2. Hi Ben, PM'd you. Thanks, Justin
  3. Should also add that the car just went through an MOT with no advisories. Now MOT'd till May 2015.
  4. @3G - you were stating that the electric windows might not be standard and maybe retro fitted. You were not asking whether the door cards were original or not. Having owned the car for less than a year, and with the car being 24 years old, I couldn't possibly vouch for the originality of the door cards. The electrics package though is factory, and that includes the windows. The car is still for sale, price drop to £4,500 Ono as I need to sell as I also run a MK1 Cab and can't justify having both cars on the road. If interested please contact me on: orient555@hotmail.com. Happy to provide further pictures and details. Thanks, Justin
  5. To anyone interested in buying this car. Pleas, if you are going to contact me saying you are a MK2 Golf enthusiast, please at least know the basics about a MK2 Golf. An example would be where the electric window controls are! Thanks
  6. Apologies, forgot to list the price. I'm looking for £4,995 ovno. Thanks, Justin

Also, thesteering wheel has been replaced with a Momo detachable wheel. Nearly all the MOTs are present dating back to 1997 and it is only missing one or two so this confirms the mileage. There are lots and lots of receipts and service history. The service book is stamped up until 90,000 miles and then there are lots of receipts after that for various works and servicing. It is hard to believe it is 24 years old as it really is that good and most of the suspension and braking components are all brand new. Any inspection is welcome. There really is nothing to hide with this little Golf, it is ready to be enjoyed as it is. I have had all the geometry checked and it is all well within tolerance. It drives straight and overall it is hard to say why it is a cat C. I can only assume the keys were lost or something simple like that. Please do not be put off by this as it is a really straight car with many many new parts. The current mileage is 130,050 (this will go up slightly as I do use it occasionally) and it is MOTd until May 2014 and taxed until August 2014. All four tyres are in excellent condition with lots of tread remaining. All in all this is a rare opportunity to purchase an appreciating classic mk2 Golf GTI G60. Prices are only ever going to go one way with these cars. To arrange a viewing please email any questions or requirements.I can also provide more photos of the car if required. 8. Cheers James. My current stainless steel system looks great, but is so bl**dyloud it's ridiculous. I want something a bit more discreet as I'm sure I'm hacking off be neighbours.
  9. Thank you JamesG60, and J1o1e. I have a Jetex system from VW Heritage on my MK1 GTi, and have been really pleased with it. Did you go for a stainless steel system? Is your car a genuine left hand drive G60 and not a conversion? I'm tempted to go with the Jetex system as the cost isn't too prohibitive. The engine I'm running has had a fair bit of upgrade work down to it. Does anyone have any opinion on whether they think the Jetex system will be restrictive on the engine? James, what sort of money am I looking at having to pay for a system from the down pipes back? Many thanks again. Justin
  10. Jonk710, how are you getting on with the Wagner intercooler? Has it made a perceivable difference to the engines performance? Would love to hear your impressions on this upgrade. Thanks, Justin
  11. Cheers for all the advice on tracking his part down. Managed to source one from a company in the US.
  12. That's great, I'll give that a go. Thank you.
  13. Does anyone know where I can source this part for a LHD G60? Tried VW Heritage but they only stock the part for a right hooker. Many thanks in advance. Justin
